DJ Mark van Dale

Mark was born in Rotterdam on the 13th of November 1964 with the name Marc Pols.
The birth of Mark van Dale came in 1981 when he began to make appearances at various (pirate) radiostations.
Mark took his opportunities well and was rewarded in 1986 when he received his own morning show aboard the ship Ross Revenge (Radio Caroline).
Upon returning to dry land Mark joined the crew of Free Radio
Rotterdam which went onto be known as Stads(city)radio Rotterdam, where he was responsible for the extremely popular Hardcore House programme "Turbulentie" (Turbulence), which also included DJ's Erik de Koning (Enrico), Michel de Hey and Paul Elstak among others.
In this period Mark also recorded his first record in colaboration with Erik de Koning as King Dale. The track was called "Utter Utter".

In 1994 he was fired on the spot from Stadsradio for playing the tune "Prince Willem Alex is a homo" on the Dutch national holiday Queensday.
Here after Mark decided to concentrate all his efforts on the clubscene, as visitor to the iT (Amsterdam).
He discovered the groovier side of house music being extremely influenced by the style's of DJ Marcello and DJ Jean.
Mark began his new style in The Opera Arnhem, where he worked for two years on his clubnight "Faces of House".
Also during this period Mark could often by found in the iT discotheque.
This time not as a visitor, but as stand-in DJ for Jean, when he couldn't make it.
All this lead to Marks "big break", which came in 1996 when he accepted a resident slot at the highly rated super club ASTA MOVEMENT in The Hague, giving him the opportunity to share centre stage with international and national DJ-ing heroes, including the likes of Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, Kevin Saunderson, Remy, Dimitri and Jean.

Mark gained international recognation with releases on his own Massive Drive Recordings labels, including the hits "Greece 2000" (Three Drives on a Vinyl) and "Water Verve" (Mark van Dale with Enrico), which led to tv appearances in Canada, Germany, Spain and France, and DJ gigs all over the world.
Mark also mixed the "Massive Drive" compilation cd's for Arcade.
When not on DJ duty Mark can mostly be found with partners Guide Pernet (Human Resource) and previously mentioned Erik de Koning at their company "Dub Foundation", which consists of numerous record labels, publishing, five fully equiped recording studio's and the internet radio station "Dancenetfm.com" (www.dancenetfm.com.)

Currently Mark plays 3-5 times a week in & outside The Netherlands including: Dance Valley, Impulz, Chemistry, Powerzone, Night Live Music (all NL) After Hour Power (L.A), St Petersburg & Moscow (Russia) Ibiza & all around the coast
of Spain. Residencies include: S.O.S.("O"The Hague) Groovalicous("O" Arnhem) The Tune Saloon (Lexion Westzaan) & Jubilation (Legendary house club The Waakzaamheid, Koog a/d Zaan).

Recently Mark has changed his style towards a more mature Groovy melodic sound which he self describes as "deep house with a twist of techno & trance" .This is displayed on his latest compilation mix CD "Restyled". Even at his own clubnight "Restyled"; often at Escape Venue, Amsterdam. His current
production "Something going on"(with vocals from C.B.Milton) which managed to break out of the dance charts 7 into the mainstream national (NL)Top 40.(Both released on Digidance. Mark has his own website where he interacts with fans via his guestbook. He also upgrades the site daily.
