Joyce Mercedes is an international DJ of great stature and talent. She reached number 109 in 2006 in the DJMAG Top 100. She has traveled all around the globe and has displayed her immense passion for music in the largest and most popular clubs in the world. During the last years, Joyce Mercedes performed in more than 47 different countries. This demonstrates both her international popularity, and her skill with adapting her live performance skills to a very diverse crowd. This exceptional talent explains why Joyce Mercedes is rated as one of the best female female progressive house dj's.

She is well known throughout the underground music scene and has "progressive house" in the most pure form, in her blood. Joyce enjoys stimulating other people's senses like a hypnotist who knows how to stun the dance floor. Her choice of records on any given night shows her nose for quality and her exceptional mix-technique is based on a combination of inborn talent and perseverance. The words funky, techy, full-of-soul, tribal, trancy and psychedelic can all be found in her musical vocabulary. People are waiting for a glimpse of her beauty and for the first beat which makes their hearts rock.

She has shared stages with names such as Sasha, Anthony Pappa, James Holden, Paul van Dyk, Chris Fortier and Derrick May. She received her Audio Engineering degree in 2004 at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Amsterdam, and studied further on the more specialized course in Electronic Music Production, she has now begun to produce her own music.

Joyce is now launching her own label (September 2007), QOC-Recordings, to release her debut EP, 'Golden Stars', and will be introducing other new and promising artists through the label in due course. The Golden Stars EP is a powerful progressive statement, full of uplifting energy & joyous melodies, and awash with both tribal & trance influences. Joyce Mercedes is also currently working as a vocalist on many different productions. Working with producers like Behind Blue Eyes & Flowjob, Sonic Cube and Ralph Novel as for others. Now (end okt) Joyce will release her first double DJ mix compilation in cooperation with Clubstar a German label. One CD will be more vocally than the other, but both will bring you in a big partymood..

Joyce Mercedes passed her Athenaeum-diploma and started a study Economics. Next to her study in the 90's she started working as a dancer for leading organizations like Pantera and X-tension. This was followed by the "Strycker & Holmes World Tour" in which Joyce performed a sparkling dance show in some of the most famous clubs in the world. Her passion for music lies in her dancing as well as in her singing. In 1997-1999 Joyce Mercedes was part of "Centerfold", a singing group. In 1998 they performed in a sold out Amsterdam Arena during the pause of the classic football game Ajax-PSV. "Centerfold" also added lustre to the 15th year anniversary of Playboy. Joyce Mercedes also works regularly as a model, featuring in campaigns for Heineken, Campari, Gap-Star, Playboy, MAXIM and FHM magazines.

In 1999 Joyce Mercedes decided to buy some turntables and try to master the art of mixing. Her first performance before an audience took place in sunny Miami at a private party. Quickly the bookings started to roll in, acuminating in the residency DJ spot at the well known Amsterdam "Supperclub" and the 2 year "Space World Tour" to crown it all off. At this moment Joyce Mercedes has performed in almost every famous foreign club in Europe, North America, South-America as well as in the Far East.
